2020 Wallace Video Challenge! Make your own video and recreate your favorite movie scene! The video entry deadline is April 26th at midnight.
How it Works
We have 4 different age categories for directors: PreK/Elementary, Middle School, High School, and 18 and Over.
The “director” (person entering a video) will choose a scene from their favorite movie and record themselves and their friends or family acting it out. An example of what your video could look like can be found here and the original scene that it was made after here.
All of the videos will be voted on by donation and ranked by judges. Links to videos will be shared on the Wallace Facebook Page so friends and family can vote!
The entry deadline is Sunday, April 26, 2020 at midnight. (This means paying the suggested donation and submitting your video.)
Online voting for People’s Choice will start on Tuesday, April 228, 2020 at 8AM and run until Saturday, May 16th at 7PM.
Prizes
- People’s Choice, awarded by most donations, will win a Light Bulb for our Marquee!
- Best Picture, selected by judges
- Best Interpretation, selected by judges
Each contestant will received an awards certificate and trophy.
about
While there are numerous members of the community who have fond memories of The Wallace at its height, our youngest guests have yet to see it in that same way. Through this challenge, we hope to foster a connection between the The Wallace and the youth of West Texas and begin to create their own memories.
Participants will develop creative and artistic skills. They will create a vision and work to achieve goals through filming, editing, and submitting a video they have created.
There will also be a People’s Choice Award for donations made to the Wallace on behalf of each video. The money raised from this challenge will help fund the needed repairs for the heating and air conditioning system in the Wallace Theater. The most important thing is to have FUN! Someday these same children will be able to enjoy The Wallace the way their parents and grandparents did, and the Wallace Legacy will live on!
