Attention! Middle School and High School Students: Sign Up now for Spring 2021!
Have you ever wanted to perform on stage? Do you like to write? Do you enjoy making people laugh? Or are you more comfortable behind the scenes as a director, stage manager, or a designer?
No matter what your interests are, there is a place for you in Theatre. Theatre is for everyone because everyone likes stories. This class is completely FREE and a meal is provided each week! All you have to do is show up.
In this weekly class, we will form a theatre troupe and learn about all aspects of what it takes to put on a play successfully. We will develop the skills of improv, learn how to write a play as well as how to create costumes and direct a play. We will learn acting techniques and how to embody a role. Above all, we will have fun learning to tell stories together.
Each week we will work with a professional guest artist from Texas Tech University. Each artist will teach a full workshop on their expertise from different theatrical fields. The 2nd half of the semester we will begin working on our end of the semester showcase. That may be a full production or readings of your own plays like we did in the fall of 2020.
The participants in the program for the spring of 2021 will help guide what the final showcase will be based on what you want to learn throughout the semester.
The Spring 2021 Semester is supported by a sponsorship from Prosperity Bank a partnership with the Levelland ACE program. Thank you ACE and Prosperity Bank!
